VetCare is proud to offer computed tomography (CT) imaging for our patients. CT is in essence, a 3 dimensional x-ray of a particular region of your pet's body. CT provides us with spatial information we could not obtain via conventional x-rays. A short period of anesthesia is necessary to limit movement during the procedure. Most scans are completed in less than 20 minutes.
CT is most useful in imaging areas of the body that are difficult to access including:
Nasal cavity
Lungs
Intervertebral discs
Skull/dental diseases
Extent of cancer/tumors
Identification of foxtails in skin and muscle
You can schedule a CT any weekday via our internal medicine or surgery departments at 925-556-1234.
Your pet should not eat after bedtime the night before the procedure. Please ensure we receive any images or medical records for your pet.
